Parmida Ziaei is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist based in Seattle.

As a designer:

Pamida has been merging her backgrounds in performing arts and Architecture by designing for live theatre, themed entertainment, immersive and branded spaces, and attractions. She has been a scenic and production designer with many local Seattle theatres including ACT, Village Theatre, Seattle Shakespeare Company, ArtsWest, Seattle Public Theatre, Sound Theatre Company, Taproot Theatre among others. Parmida is the co-founder and Producing/managing director of Seda Iranian Theatre Ensemble. Parmida has been the recipient of multiple residencies including the 2022 Northwest Creator Residency at Village Theatre.

As a performer and choreographer:

Parmida often combines her training in various dance forms including Classical Persian dance and contemporary movement to create a unique movement style that represents her merging identities and explores resilience, culture, and social-political issues. In her teaching and choreography work, she is interested in cultivating and nurturing how each person's body embodies movement informed by their experiences to tell a story, express emotions, and show resilience. Parmida recently performed her solo show, Dancing beyond the Veil, as part of Macha Theatre's 17 minute stories in 2020.

As a curator and consultant:

Parmida has been a grant panelist, curator and consultant for organizations such as Washington State Art Commission and Base Art Space, and for individual artists.
